There's a really sweet resort I know of in New orleans, it's called the Wyndham Avenue Plaza and they offer Studio and One Bedroom resort style condos. It's close to everything, there's a lot of fun activities to do right in that area. If you book it through this travel site called resortime.com, you can get a really great rate (between $69 and $132, not bad for a luxury resort!!) and they will offer some local discounts on local restaurants and some fun activities. Plus they're extremely easy to book through!

And definitely go to the French Quarter and listen to as much Jazz as you can while you're there to get the whole experience. Bourbon St is fun, but watch out for all the crazies!

The best hotel is the hotel Monteloene, ritz, and roosevelt. The monteloene is my favorite. Also, you can stay at the columns hotel.

Try to venture away from the quarter and do some local stuff and bars. Go to Lucys retired surfers bar and the red eye, the republic is close to those too. Also go to the bull dog on magazine, and the victorian lounge at the columns hotel on st. charles and de la chaise on st. charles too. Also, we like fat harry's on st. charles too. For late night go to F and M's and grits and. Ms. Maes has dive bar with super cheap drinks. YOu can start there and then go to f and m;s and go back. Also, there is the boot by tulane and fat harry's on st. charles. Go eat at Dick and Jennys and take a cab down the street to dos jefes, tipitians or f and m's and grits. Ms. Maes is 24 hr. bar and f and m's and grits will close down at like 7 or 8am.

The best po boy sandwich is Domilise's a little family owned place outside of the quarter and is cash only. This is a best kept secret. Also since it is Crawfish Season go to Yo Mamas bar and grill and get some boiled crawfish.

My favorite drinks: Planters Punch at Pat O's, Pimms Cup at the Napolean House, bloody mary at the avenue pub uptown( Avenue pub is also a great place for beer and its open 24 hrs.

I've been staying at the Hotel St. Marie the past few times I've gone. The rooms are decent and I like it. They have a pool too if it is super hot and you want to relax but not in your room. I don't think anyone goes there for the hotels :-) But you could ask for a room facing the courtyard with a balcony when you make your reservation.

I usually shop around for hotels on Travelocity. It's easy and fun and you can look at the rooms from their website and read reviews.
